5 DAYS KILIMANJARO TREKKING VIA MARANGU ROUTE

     KILIMANJARO TREKKING 5 DAYS VIA MARANGU ROUTE



DAY 0:  this is actually the arrival day, we will come to pick up from the airport which is kilimanjaro international airport and drop off at the hotel where you will overnight and having an briefing for the trekking and get well prepared if not have enough equipment and gears. (Gears are available for rent in Moshi town)



DAY 1:  we are going to start driving from the hotel to the starting point which is marangu gate at 9:30 am which will take about 90 min. for registration and start hiking about 1800mt up to the first stop mandara hurt about 2720mt above the sea level about 8km for overnight. The hiking tooks about 3 to 4 hours and that was rain forest hiking.



DAY 2:  after breakfast we continue on our hiking on 8:00am to the next stop know horombo hurt which is next zone of health and moorland about 3720mt above the sea level, it's tooks about 5 to 6 hours hiking. Before the next stop of horombo we will have a brake at the lunch point for the lunch (not hot) and tea as a starter. This day took almost 11km.



DAY 3:  after finishing all activities at horombo at 8:00am as well we proceed with our hiking to the last hurts waiting for the summit push kwown as kibo hurt about 4700mt above the sea level and took us about 5 hours walking on the desert about 10km. This day also we will have a lunch point brake. 



DAY 4:  we start with the day at 12:00am at the midnight pushing up to the first stop which is gilmans point (bronze medal) about 5 to 6 hours 5km heading to the next stop know stela point (silver medal) about 45 min to 1 hour 1km then the last turn known as Uhuru peark (gold medal) again about 1 hour 1km. The ascending from kibo to Uhuru will be like 7 to 8 hours then 3 to 4 hours descending back for the bit resting and having something to eat then back to horombo hurt about 3 hours for overnight.



DAY 5:  after having celebration with the crews members we are starting to going back to the gate about 6 hours 19km for having transportations to the hotel then drop off at the airport for flight ✈️

TREKKING PROGRAM 7 DAYS MACHAME ROUTE

    KILIMANJARO TREKKING 7 DAYS VIA MACHAME ROUTE


DAY 0: Arrival day.

Our driver and CEO will be at the airport waiting for you to arrive, then drop you at the hotel about 1 hour and 30 minutes where you will rest for a while waiting for the briefing and gears check for your trekking then overnight for the next day. Elevation here is about 900mt above the sea level.



DAY 1: Driving from the hotel to starting point.

Guide will pick you from the hotel at 09:00am after your breakfast to Machame gate where you will have your registration and see your porters and cooker. You will start hiking through the rainforest which is dense forest. Here you will enjoy viewing different flora and fauna.



DAY 2: From machame to shira camp.

This is a shortest day but steeper one. You will Wake up and get breakfast, start proceed your hiking for the second day where you will trek several uphill where there are several viewpoints from which you can see the plains and forests below and Kibo peak above and also mount Meru which is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and also Kilimanjaro famous high altitude plants, Scenecio kilimanjari and Lobelia deckenii.



DAY 3: Shira to barranco camp.

In the morning you will have breakfast and get start hiking. This day we call it acclimatization day because we have to hike to lava tower which is 14000ft/4640m before descent to Barranco camp 12960ft/3950m where you will camp and overnight. Beautiful view of mount Kilimanjaro.



DAY 4: Barranco to karanga camp.

Leave Barranco Camp after breakfast starting climbing Barranco wall, nicknamed as Breakfast wall because after breakfast you have to climb the wall (not technical climbing). From there we hike up and down to Karanga camp, where we can get a hot lunch, rest and doing acclimatization by the time you will be given from guide.



DAY 5: Karanga to barafu camp.

After breakfast, begin the hike to Barafu Camp. On the way to Barafu, you view several Kibo's glaciers, Mawenzi Peak as well as the junction that connects the descent route which is Mweka route. On this day try to sleep as soon as you finish dinner as you will awake before midnight for your summit hike, and take all your warm gears for hiking to the summit.



DAY 6: Barafu to uhuru peak back to mweka camp.

At the mid night we wake up at 11:30pm and get a light breakfast before we start hiking to the summit. We should start at 12:00am and it will take 5 hours to reach to the Stella point 14000ft/ 5730m which is at the rim of the crater. And from Stella point to UHURU Peak the highest peak of Kilimanjaro mountain which it will take one hour hiking through the rim of the crater. We will be at the Summit at the sunrise time 6:00am to 7:00am, where you will get time to enjoy and taking pictures. Afterward you will start to descent back to Barafu Camp where we will have lunch packing and keep descending to Mweka camp where you will have dinner and rest.



DAY 7: Mweka camp back to the hotel.

After camping and overnight at Mweka camp you will start descent to Mweka gate crossing the rainforest again and get back to the hotel from Mweka gate.

DAY 0: ARRIVAL DAY.

Our guide and driver, they will pick you from Kilimanjaro Airport to the hotel for the short briefing about hiking in the next day and also double checking up for trekking gears.


DAY 1: HOTEL TO MACHAME GATE.

From the Hotel to Machame Gate (5,905ft / 1,800m) then start hiking to Machame Camp (9,840ft / 3,000m/) 10 kilometers. Guide will pick you from the hotel at 09:00am after your breakfast to Machame gate where you will have your registration and see your porters and cooker. You will start hiking through the rainforest which is dense forest. Here you will enjoy viewing different flora and fauna. Half on the way you will have lunch and proceed to Machame camp where you will find the camp has already setup by the crews. At the camp you need to sign in and waiting for the dinner before sleep.


DAY 2: MACHAME CAMP TO SHIRA CAMP.

From machame Camp (9,840ft / 3,000m) to Shira Camp (12,600ft / 3,840m) 7 kilometersThis is a shortest day but steeper one. You will Wake up and get breakfast, start proceed your hiking for the second day where you will trek several uphill where there are several viewpoints from which you can see the plains and forests below and Kibo peak above and also mount Meru which is the second highest mountain in Tanzania, also as you gain high altitude you will notice changes in vegetations and the trees diminish in size, giving way to Kilimanjaro famous high altitude plants, Scenecio kilimanjari and Lobelia deckenii.For this day you may have hot lunch at the camp or lunch box because it only three hours for the normal steps which depend on the fitness you had on the first day or the weather of that day, after eating lunch, you will get time to acclimatize and get back to Shira Camp, where you will have dinner and relax for the rest of the day.


DAY 3: SHIRA CAMP TO BARRANCO CAMP.

From shira Camp (12,600ft / 3,840m) to Barranco Camp (12,960ft / 3,950m) 10 kilometersIn the morning you will have breakfast and get start hiking. This day we call it acclimatization day because we have to hike to lava tower which is 14000ft/4640m before descent to Barranco camp 12960ft/3950m where you will camp and overnight. At Barranco camp you will enjoy the beautiful view of mount Kilimanjaro and also scenery of Moshi town depending on the weather day, sometimes you may fear the Barranco wall as it looks because the next day we suppose to cross there, it is simple than how you may think.


DAY 4: BARRANCO TO BARAFU CAMP.

From barranco Camp 12960ft/3950m to Barafu Camp 15100ft/4600m via Karanga Valley CampWake up very earlier in the morning, get breakfast, and start hiking crossing Barranco Wall it will take 45 minutes to one hour. At the top of Barranco Wall you may get the nice view of the mountain, you may be interested to also get some more pictures. From there we proceed to Karanga camp where we gonna get hot lunch and continue to the base camp called Barafu Camp the last camp before summit, here we will have earlier dinner to get time for preparation of midnight hiking, (summit push).


DAY 5: BARAFU CAMP TO UHURU PEAK TO MWEKA CAMP

From Barafu Camp (15,100ft /4,600m) to Uhuru Peak (19,340ft / 5,895m) to Mweka Camp (10,170ft / 3,100m) 18 kilometers. At the mid night we wake up at 11:00pm and get a light breakfast before we start hiking to the summit. We should start at 12:00am and it will take 5 hours to reach to the Stella point 14000ft/ 5730m which is at the rim of the crater. And from Stella point to UHURU Peak the highest peak of Kilimanjaro mountain which it will take one hour hiking through the rim of the crater. Approximately we will be at the Summit at the sunrise time 6:00am to 7:00am, where you will get time to enjoy and taking pictures. Afterward you will start to descent back to Barafu Camp where we will have lunch packing and keep descending to Mweka camp where you will have dinner and rest.


DAY 6: MWEKA CAMP TO HOTEL.

Mweka Camp (10,170ft / 3,100m/) to Mweka Gate (4,920ft / 1500m/) 10 kilometers After camping and overnight at Mweka camp you will start descent to Mweka gate crossing the rainforest again. Watch your steps because the trail can be slippery. Our vehicles will be waiting at the lower station of Mweka Gate to take you back to the hotel, where you can get a hot shower and small part time with your crews and guides.

     TREKKING PROGRAM LEMOSHO ROUTE 8 DAYS DAY


 DAY 0: ARRIVAL DAY.

Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for briefing and gears check for your trekking.


DAY 1:  FROM HOTEL TO LONDOROSSI GATE.

Londorossi Gate (7,380 ft/2250m) to Lemosho Glades (6,560 ft/ 2000m) to Mkubwa Camp (9,020 ft/2750m) 18 km, 4-5 hours Montane Forest. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driving to Londorosi Gate with our guide by 4WD for the registration at the national park, then afterward driving back to the starting point and where we can start our hiking through rainforest crossing Lemosho Glades, where we will have a lunch a half on the way before reach Mti Mkubwa Camp where you rest, and get dinner.


DAY 2: MTI MKUBWA CAMP TO SHIRA 1 CAMP.

Mti mkubwa Camp (/9,020 ft/2750m) to Shira Camp 1 (11,485 ft / 3500m) 5 hours Moorland. Starting our hiking after breakfast, here we will walk through the moorland, get different views of flora and fauna also different geographical features. Again a half on the way we will have lunch and after it we will continue our hiking up to Shira 1 Camp where we will get rest, and doing acclimatization before having a dinner. Shira Camp is in the Plateau therefore you will get a very nice view of the mountain and shira cathedral.


DAY 3: SHIRA 1 TO SHIRA 2 CAMP.

Shira Camp 1 (11,485 ft / 3500m) to Shira Camp 2 (12,600 ft / 3840m) 6 km, 3 hours Alpine Desert. We wake up, getting breakfast and start our trekking passing through shira cathedral for acclimatization, and there you will have different views of geographical features around the shira cathedral and view of shira plateau. We proceed to shira 2 camp for hot lunch; get rest wakeup later for acclimatization after that get back for dinner.


DAY 4: SHIRA 2 TO BARRANCO CAMP.

ACCLIMATIZATION DAY AT LAVA TAWER. Shira Camp 2 (/12,600 ft/3840m) to Lava Tower (15,190 ft/4600m) to Barranco Camp (12,960 ft/3950m) 7 hours Semi-Desert. After breakfast, you will hike east up a steepening path above the highest vegetation, after several hours, you walk through a rocky landscape to reach the prominent landmark called Lava Tower at 15,190 ft/4600m. This chunky remnant of Kilimanjaro’s earlier volcanic activity is several hundred feet high, and the trail passes right below it. For extra credit, the sure-footed can scramble to the top of the tower.After a lunch stop near Lava Tower, descend for 2 hours below the lower cliffs of the Western Breach and Breach Wall to Barranco Camp at 12,960 ft/3950m. There are numerous photo opportunities on this hike, especially if the walls are festooned with ice. Barranco Camp is in a valley below the Breach and Great Barranco Walls, which should provide you with a memorable sunset while you wait for your dinner. On this day, be careful to notice any signs of altitude sickness.


DAY 5: BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA CAMP.

Barranco Camp (12,960ft / 3,950m/) to Karanga Valley (13,780ft / 4,035m) 7 Kilometers. Leave Barranco Camp after breakfast starting climbing Barranco wall, nicknamed as Breakfast wall because after breakfast you have to climb the wall (not technical climbing). Climbing Barranco wall it takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. From there we hike up and down to Karanga camp 13780ft/4035m probably it will take 2 hours also is another short hiking day where we can get a hot lunch, rest and doing acclimatization by the time you will be given from guide.


DAY 6: KARANGA CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP.

Karanga Camp (/13,780ft / 4,035m) to Barafu Camp (15,100ft / 4,600m/) 6 kilometers. After breakfast, begin the hike to Barafu Camp. On the way to Barafu, you view several Kibo's glaciers, Mawenzi Peak as well as the junction that connects the descent route which is Mweka route. Although the trail to Barafu passes through alpine desert with little vegetation, Barafu Camp offers stunning views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Try to sleep as soon as you finish dinner as you will awake before midnight for your summit hike, and take all your warm gears for hiking to the summit.

NEW NORTHERN CIRCUIT ROUTE; The Northern Circuit is the newest and longest route on Mount Kilimanjaro. It begins in the West at the Londorossi Gate and follows the same path as the Lemosho route for the first two days. After crossing the Shira plateau the path veers north near Lava Tower, following the longer Northern Circuit instead of the more popular Southern Circuit via Barranco Valley The route circles around the quieter northern slopes to the east side of the mountain.The Northern Circuit is longer than the other trails on Kilimanjaro, taking a minimum of eight or nine days to complete. The eight day trek skips the additional acclimatization day that is usually spent at Shira Camp 2 and continues straight on to Moir Camp.


DAY 0: ARRIVAL DAY.

Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, pick up and transferred to the Hotel for briefing and gears check, waiting for overnight Dinner and Breakfast Included at the hotel.


DAY 1: DRIVING FROM HOTEL TO LONDOROSSI GATE.

Moshi (915 m/3,000 ft) to Londorossi Gate (2,250 m/7,380 ft) to Lemosho Glades (2,000 m/6,560 ft)to Mkubwa Camp (2,750 m/9,020 ft) Drive from Moshi to the Londorossi Park Gate. From here follow a forest track in a 4WD vehicle for 11 km about 45 minutes to Lemosho Glades and a possible campsite. From the Glades, walk for 3 hours along beautiful forest trails to the Mti Mkubwa (big tree) campsite.


DAY 2: MTI MKUBWA TO SHIRA 1 CAMP.

From Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750 m/9,020 ft) to Shira Camp 1 (3,500 m/11,485 ft) The trail gradually steepens, enters the giant heather moorland zone, then crosses the Shira Ridge at 3,600 m/11,810 ft. and drops gently to Shira Camp 1 located by a stream on the Shira Plateau.


DAY 3: SHIRA 1 TO MOIR CAMP.

 SHIRA 1 CAMP ~ MOIR CAMP (13,800 ft. / 4,205m)Trek across the Shira plateau, east toward Kibo’s glacier peak. Shira is one of the highest plateaus on earth, averaging 12,500 feet. We immediately veer away from the tourist trails toward the northeast edge of the Plateau to reach Moir Camp. The trek is about 4-5 hours over easy terrain. Moir camp is an isolated and seldom used camp affording views over the Shira Plateau.


DAY 4: MOIR TO BUFFALO CAMP.

MOIR CAMP ~ BUFFALO/POFU CAMP (13,200 ft. / 4,025m)Begin the morning trek heading out of the moorland and into the stark alpine desert, on a steep ridge off the main trail, and begin our venture on the Northern Circuit Route. The total trekking time is about 5 – 7 hours. From the Pofu Campsite, you will enjoy a magnificent view of Kenya's wild lands to the north.


DAY 5: BUFFALO CAMP TO THIRD CAVE CAMP.

 From BUFFALO/POFU CAMP ~ THIRD CAVES CAMP (11,800 ft. 3600m) Proceed onward through valleys and over ridges through the alpine desert and moorland, continuing our circuit to the east, enjoying a vast mountain wilderness to ourselves. Trekking time today is 5 - 7 hours.


DAY 6: THIRD CAVE TO MAWENZI TARN HURT.

THIRD CAVES CAMP ~ MAWENZI TARN CAMP (14,160 ft./ 4,315m)Trek 3-5 hours steadily upward to reach a placid mountain tarn (lake) at the foot of the majestically rising steep ridges of Mawenzi, Kilimanjaro second highest volcano. The camp here is nestled along the tarn in a protected alcove with magnificent views towards the steeply rising rocks of Mawenzi.


DAY 7: MAWENZI TARN HURT TO SKULL HURT.

MAWENZI TARN CAMP ~ SKULL HURT (OUTWARD BOUND CAMP) (15,585 ft./ 4,750m) The trekking time today is 5 - 7 hours, though a relatively easy hike across the wide saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The trek takes you across the massive saddle- the crossing is impressive and the landscape spectacularly stark. The temperatures turn cold as you near the foot of Kibo, reaching Outward Bound Camp after 5-7 hours of trekking. Prepare all your gear for the day ahead, and turn in early to rest as soon as possible waiting for the summit push.


DAY 8: SKULL HURT TO UHURU PEAK.

From SKULL HURT (OUTWARD BOUND CAMP) ~ UHURU PEAK (19,340 ft./ 5,895m)  Millennium CAMP (10,200 ft./ 3,110m) A midnight wake-up call is the start of a long trek. You begin trekking at 1 am up to the winding path of endless switchbacks. From your camp to the rim of the crater (Gillman’s Point (18,750ft. / 5,712 m)) to Uhuru Peak, the trekking time is about 7 - 8 hours. The slope is steep, with switchbacks, over loose rock and scree with some boulders as you near Gilman’s Point. You will stop at Hans Meyer cave on the way, the famous place where Kilimanjaro first western climber described in his journals. Once you arrive at Gilman’s Point at the edge of the crater, the trail to the summit is less demanding and is reached after a further 1½-2 hours along the snowy crater rim (depending on the season). After a short time at the summit, retrace your steps back to Gilman’s Point, then summon your strength again for a further descent to Mweka Camp for the night.


DAY 9: MILLENNIUM CAMP TO THE HOTEL.

 From MILLENNIUM CAMP ~ MWEKA GATE, as usual we will continue descending to the gate where we will find a vehicle waiting for us about (5-6 hours), where you’ll have lunch and will be awarded climbing certificates AND DRIVE BACK TO THE HOTEL where our expedition ended, thanks for being with us and welcome back again.💯🖖

DAY 0: AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL.

Arrival dayYou will be met by our tour guides at the airport and transferred to your hotel; we are happy to recommend hotels in the area and/or make your hotel bookings for you. At this day before your hike, you will receive briefing information from our tour guides concerning trekking and other information about your trek.


DAY 1: HOTEL TO RONGAI GATE TO SIMBA CAMP.

 We will pick you up in the morning at your hotel and drive approximately one hour to Marangu Gate. After registration at the Marangu Gate, we will drive about 3 hours to Rongai or Nalemoru Gate near the Kenya border. At the gate we will enjoy a box lunch. We begin hiking in the wild timber forest and then in the natural forest to simba camp for overnight.


DAY 2: SIMBA CAMP TO SECOND CAVE.

This is a very short hiking day. After breakfast we start hiking to Second Cave Camp. The trail will cross through the moorland where you will have different views of the mountain scenery. You can let your guides know whether you would like a box lunch to eat on the way or have a hot lunch at the camp. After resting at the camp, you have the option to do a short acclimatization hike before dinner


DAY 3: SECOND CAVE TO KIKILELWA CAMP.

After a leisurely breakfast, we start the trek through the moorland zone, up and down between 3000m to 4000m. During the hiking we will get a beautiful view of different geographical features including volcanic rock, caves, valleys, springs in addition to a range of flora and fauna. Rest and dinner at Kikelewa camp


DAY 4: KIKILELWA CAMP TO MAWENZI TURN CAMP.

 After breakfast, we start hiking to Mawenzi Turn Camp. It is a short but steep hike. In the higher altitude you will notice changes in vegetation; the trees diminish in size, giving way to Kilimanjaro famous high altitude plants, Scenecio Kilimanjari and Lobelia Deckenii. Typically, hot lunch is provided at Mawenzi Turn Camp. This camp is near Mawenzi Peak and Mawenzi Pond; both provide interesting scenery and beautiful views.


DAY 5: MAWENZI CAMP TO KIBO CAMP.

 Breakfast will be served by 07:30. We will hike through the alpine desert and we will join other trekkers from Marangu route because it’s a junction between the two routes. Here, it will be chilly because of the wind blowing between the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. We will set up camp for you at Kibo Huts. Once you reach the camp, you can unpack, rest and wait for dinner.


DAY 6: KIBO TO UHURU TO HOROMBO CAMP.

 Today is the summit day (Uhuru Peak 19340ft). We will serve you a light breakfast a little before midnight. In preparing for the summit, make sure you have warm gear/ clothes with you. Leaving at 12:00am, we will switch back up steep scree and possibly snow. We will reach Gilmans Point 18640 ft/ 5861m which is at the rim of the crater where we will have a view of the crater and the eastern glacier. From there, you will walk the rim of the crater crossing Stella Point to UHURU PEAK 19340ft/5895m, the highest peak in Mountain Kilimanjaro. Ideally, we will summit around 6:00am to 7:00am during the sunrise. We will spend time taking pictures and you can congratulate yourself for reaching Africa’s highest peak. Afterward, we will descend back to Kibo Hut and have lunch before descending to Horombo Hut where we will have dinner.


DAY 7: HOROMBO TO MARANGU GATE TO HOTEL.

After breakfast, you will pack and start descending through the moorland to the Mandara Huts where we will have lunch. You will then continue your triumphant trek down through lush rain forest to the Marangu Gate; Climbers will receive their summit certificates. It is customary to tip your guides, cooks, and porters at this time, since you will be leaving them here. The guides will take you back to the hotel, where it is definitely time for celebration!

        TREKKING PROGRAM-RONGAI ROUTE 6 DAYS

DAY 0: ARRIVAL DAY, AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL.

You will be met by our tour guides at the airport and transferred to your hotel; we are happy to recommend hotels in the area and/or make your hotel bookings for you. At this day before your hike, you will receive briefing information from our tour guides concerning trekking and other information about your trek.


DAY 1: HOTEL TO NALEMORU GATE SIMBA CAMP.

 Nalemoru Gate (1990m) to Simba Camp (2625m) This morning we will drive to the village of Nale Moru for the starting point of the Rongai route. The first stage of the trek is through farmland and pine forests. You may have chance to see the beautiful Colobus monkeys or if you’re lucky enough, elephants or buffalos en route. Our first camp will be the Simba Camp located at the edge of the moorland zone at 2625m.


DAY 2: SIMBA CAMP TO KIKILELWA CAMP.

Simba Camp (2625m) to Kikelelwa Camp (3630m)The morning hike is a steady ascent up to the Second Cave Camp located in the moorland zone with superb views of Kibo and the Eastern ice fields on the crater rim. After lunch at cave camp we carry on with a steady ascent walking though moorland. There are superb views of the Eastern ice fields on the crater rim of Kibo, the highest of the three volcanoes which form the mountain. We will leave the main trail and strike out across moorland on a smaller path towards the jagged peaks of Mawenzi, the second of Kilimanjaro's volcanoes. We will set up camp today in the sheltered valley near Kikelelwa caves at 3630m.


DAY 3: KILELELWA CAMP TO MAWENZI TARN HURT. Kikelewa Camp (3630m) to Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4310m)This morning we have a short but steep ascent up grassy slopes which is rewarded by a superb view of the Kenyan plains to the north. We leave vegetation behind shortly before reaching our next camp at Mawenzi Tarn Hut directly below the towering cliffs of Mawenzi. This afternoon you have chance to rest or explore the surrounding area to aid acclimatization.

 

DAY 4: MAWENZI TARN HURT TO KIBO HURT.

From Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4310m) to Kibo Hut (4700m) We leave our campsite and cross the lunar desert of the ‘saddle’ between Mawenzi and Kibo After a couple hours trekking, reach this spectacular place, with the summit of Kilimanjaro in the background and our trail to the high camp stretched out before our eyes. Upon reaching our camp the remainder of the day will be spent resting in preparation of the final ascent after a very early night.


DAY 5: KIBO HURT TO UHURU PEAK TO HOROMBO HURT.

Kibo Hut (4700m) to UHURU PEAK (5895m) to Horombo Hut (3700m) Today is “The Big Day” - the summit stage. You will begin your final ascent around midnight which will be long and strenuous. Passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m, the climb slowly but surely goes upwards. At sunrise, you will reach Gillman’s Point (5681m) – the crater rim of Kilimanjaro – where the sun will slowly start to warm up the land. You will have soon forgotten the cold of the night and after a further hike of 1 - 2 hours, you will reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m. On your return to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits you followed by 1 hour break before proceeding back down to Horombo Hut for overnight.


DAY 6: HOROMBO TO MARANGU GATE TO THE HOTEL.

Horombo Hut (3700m) to Marangu Gate (1860m) The last stage passes through the heath and moor zone to the Mandara Hut (2700m) where a warm lunch is waiting for you. Soon, you will once again pass the tropical rainforest and after a total time of 6 hours trekking, you will be back at the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (1860m). For certificate award, tipping for the crew then saying goodbye to the crew members, a short transfer follows to take you back to your hotel in Moshi. Once there, you can take a warm and relaxing shower and celebrate your success in reaching the summit of the Kilimanjaro.
